Well I am currently in negotiations with my brother to try and get one more
Drum Jam at the Ranch before the heat of summer sets in, I also am trying to
up it from just Saturday to a full weekend from Friday Afternoon to Sunday
Afternoon.
I will keep everyone informed of my progress.
Thanks again too all those wonderful people who came out, it really was a
great time.
Blessings

Make that 6 volunteers. I ALSO have been doing newsletters (Word Perfect)
for about 7 years for various folks in the community, and I've been doing
cartoons for such pubs for far longer than that. (Won a small-time newspaper
contest from the Ft. Lauderdale News lonnnnnnnnnnnng time ago.) And I kin
edit some and spell reel gud. (And I usually will do the crap work that
nobody else wants to do without much bitchin', cuz I'm easily entertained.)
Count me in?
Blessings,
Dana

Subject: Fwd: Don't Kill the New Arsenic Limits in Drinking Water!
In a message dated 4/10/2001 3:18:43 PM Eastern Daylight Time,
public-access@epamail.epa.gov writes:
At least I did get some kind of response!!!
You recently sent the U.S. EPA a comment on arsenic limits in drinking
water, to which you have received a response. Included below is an
additional response from Christine Todd Whitman, EPA Administrator.
- - - - - -
Thank you for contacting me to express your concern about EPA's role in
protecting public health and the nation's drinking water supply. I
appreciate the opportunity to share with you the reasoning behind my recent
decision to review a new standard for levels of arsenic in drinking water.
On March 20, 2001, I asked for additional time to review all the
issues with respect to the rule lowering the acceptable level of arsenic in
drinking water from 50 parts per billion (ppb) to 10 ppb. As part of that
review, we will conduct an analysis of all the factors that went into the
decision, including the scientific analysis, the projected costs of
compliance, and the consideration of benefits.
My request for additional analysis does not mean that EPA will not
lower the standard from the current 50 parts per billion. We will - and we
fully expect to do so in time to make the original deadlines proposed in
the rule last January. It may interest you to know that under the rule
issued in January, most water companies were given at least five years to
comply, and some even longer.
The review I requested is designed to ensure that the science behind
the standard is strong and that the standard we set is one that can be
affordably implemented by water systems that serve America's small towns.
Let me assure you that we will issue a new standard for arsenic. It
will be lower than the current standard and it will be more protective of
public health. I am committed to protecting the health and safety of
America's families by lowering the amount of arsenic found in drinking
water.
Yours sincerely,
Christine Todd Whitman
Administrator

Blessings to phoenixfestivals@yahoogroups.com
(phoenixfestivals@yahoogroups.com)! on 4/10/01 12:34 PM you were quoted as
saying:
Just another idea...perhaps we could launch a "friendly competition" for
special designs for use at the various Phoenix Phyre events...like the
t-shirts. The Phoenix Phyre logo could go on a separate piece of jewelry,
and the different events could be represented on the front of a piece, with
the PP logo on the back, and the year. The winners could be awarded
something like a 1/2 price ticket for the event for which one's design wins.
Blessings,
Tyla
I don't yet have a Fires Teeshirt graphic.... Why not start now? I can do
better that 1/2 price - How about a full event pass to the winning artwork
for the event the art is featured.
Blessings,

When I got home I began to sort through my treasures, from the
tiny, stone otter that begs to be a pendant, to the sheepskin that
now nestles my djembe. It occured to me as I put things away that one
of the most beautiful treasures was something I couldn't put away. It
isn't tangible. The feeling of being with family, community, and
especially when we gather around the Drum Circles:) It finally
occured to me, a way to make tangible this feeling:)
Drum and Heart together entwined,
The Fire, a thread to weave the braid.
Drum and Heart and Fire combined,
The pathways to the Gods are made.
From hilltops high and Oak of tree,
He comes, Oh He of Love and Chance.
"Let Go! Let Go!" He shouts with glee,
"Ye howling, banchee heathens--DANCE!"
And in the shadows, coy of eye,
Musk of hip, and balmy-bare.
She breathes Her song as if a sigh,
"Ye sparkling sprites and satyrs--DARE!"
Madly dance in trance or not,
Sacred Firekeeper-HAIL!
Make it Higher! Keep it Hot!
So our Dance and Drum won't fail!
Diamonds spark from toe and heel,
Jingling from our hair to feet.
Oue Hearts keep time, the Drums we feel,
BaBOOM, BaBOOM, BaBOOM--REPEAT!
I have to say too, that I owe many thanks and huggies to My High
Priest(Earthdrummer)for helping me overcome that great wall <Fear Of
Expression> One can never thank their teachers quite enough.....:)

Now is that 6, Wade? Hmmmm...if only half of the volunteers pan out, we
