AutumnMeet 2005: Events at AutumnMeet 2005
Posted on Aug 13, 2005 - 06:33 AM by Dianne

Gatherings The days are filled with activities and phamily sharing.
Wednesday evening:

Opening Ritual and Drum Circle Blessing
8:00 PM
Ritual Circle
Presented by Staff
Opening Ritual sets the boundaries of our village, setting aside our entire festival site as sacred space.
The central point of Opening Ritual is lighting the sacred fire. This Ritual fire symbolizes our community, and is kept burning throughout the event. Please bring Percussion, Wind and String instruments. Chanters and dancers are also needed. This ritual will bring into our Drum Circle the Elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth to join us in our music and dance. Come prepared to feel the blessings of sound, fire, movement, comrades and Earth. We will ask that they watch over this place of gathering, to enrich each of our experiences, to guard our trances, and give strength to our drummers and dancers. We will celebrate the gifts of the Elements by partaking of their manifest forms as we dance, drum, and chat the nights away. Fill us with the joy of Phamily, and blessings of Community
You may notice that we don’t take down the circle and thank the quarters at the end of opening ritual; this is because we are living in sacred space for the entire event.

Thursday evening:

Honoring Ritual 7:15 PM
Ritual Circle
Facilitated by Ardy
Did you, or someone you know and love, get a promotion, graduate from something, have a Rite of Passage, get initiated or elevated, join the military, have a baby, get handfasted, or experience any other momentous event in life that you wish to have Honored and Recognized? Have you had a loved friend or family member pass into Summerland? We have set aside this time for such Honoring and Recognition before Bardic Circle. Please come and share your special event or your special person, and allow your phamily to join you in Recognition.

Bardic Circle
8:15 PM
Ritual Circle
Facilitated by Lynda Millard
Our community is enormously talented. Virtually every pagan we have met has a muse on their shoulder. Bardic circle is an acknowledgment of the older times when, around the campfire, or at the hearth, the community comes together to sing, dance and tell stories. Please come and share of yourself on Thursday evening in the Ritual Circle.

Friday evening:

All Souls Social Costume Ball
Calling all Goblins, Ghosts, Witches, Druids and Pagans of all Paths!!!! Bring your finest Pagan wear, your dancing shoes, and be ready for a howlin’ good time!! We’re brewin’ up a whale of a party with music by S. J. “Skinny White Chick” Tucker and Emerald Rose. You’d be Ghoulish to miss this party!

Saturday evening:

Main Ritual
8:15 PM
Ritual Circle
Facilitated by TBA

Sunday:

Village Council 10:00 am
Pavilion
Presented by Wade and You
AutumnMeet and PhoenixPhyre are community festivals. What happens, when and why it happens, in fact IF it happens. These are all a direct result of what the community tells us they want. Council is a forum for you to tell us what you want. Council is an open forum for you to bring issues to the community that you feel strongly about. Council, we believe, is the very heart of community. It is the mind that drives the community body.

Closing Ritual 12:00 noon
Ritual Circle
Presented by Everyone
You may have noticed that we didn’t take down the circle and thank the quarters at the end of opening ritual last Wednesday Evening. This was to ensure that we were living in sacred space for the entire event. We now quench the community fire, bid farewell to the quarters and each other, and dismiss the circle.

Merry Part, and Merry Meet Again
